Turning Point provides a domestic violence victim advocate to victims in the Tuscaloosa Municipal Court. The Turning Point victim advocate will interview the victims and make a recommendation to the Prosecutor and the Court concerning domestic violence cases.

In addition to Court Advocacy, Turning Point provides counseling for victims and safe shelter.

Family Counseling provides to the Court classes in:
- Domestic Violence
- Anger Management
- Property Offense Classes
Fees
Generally, defendants ordered to attend domestic violence, anger management or property offense classes will have to pay $60 for an evaluation and $30 for each class.
Assessments for classes
Only the Court can order the classes and the defendant will be given a date to be evaluated and then a date to complete the classes.
Uncompleted Class
If the classes are not completed and the defendant does not appear in Court to explain why, a writ for the defendant’s arrest will be issued.
Also, if the defendant is on probation and fails to complete the classes, the defendant is subject to probation revocation.
