Colonel Lee Busby is a retired Marine Infantry Officer and former Tuscaloosa businessman. He is a lifelong Tuscaloosa resident educated in the City’s public schools and a UA graduate with a BS in Economics & International Finance. As a Marine, Busby was awarded three Legion of Merit awards, a Bronze Star, a Joint Meritorious Service medal, a Meritorious Service medal and numerous personal and Campaign awards. He is a military certified parachutist and combat diver. On the business side, Busby worked as a retail financial investment manager for global, national and local firms. Busby has four adult children, all educated in the Tuscaloosa City School system. He was elected in Tuscaloosa’s Oct. 2019 Special Election to fill the District 4 City Council seat, and re-elected without opposition in the March 2021 election.
