Postponed – Holidays on the Plaza Ice Skating Rink Opening

The opening of the Holidays on the Plaza ice skating rink has been postponed due to mechanical difficulties. Because of parts supply issues, the new anticipated opening is early next week. Updates will be shared to the Holidays on the Plaza social media accounts and holidaysontheplaza.com.
The Tinsel Trail benefiting Tuscaloosa’s One Place will still hold the grand opening event this evening (Monday, Nov. 21) from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Government Plaza will remain open to the public for viewing the trees while the rink is temporarily closed.
On Friday, Nov. 25, at 5:30 p.m. Council President Kip Tyner will host a musical tree lighting ceremony at Alberta Park at the Gateway. This event is open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
