As required by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, the City of Tuscaloosa Water and Sewer Department notified our customers of a violation of daily reporting which was a result of human error on Sept. 15, 2014. 

Your drinking water has been and continues to be safe to drink, even during the reporting violation.
 
Please know there were no disruptions in our daily testing nor any indication that our high standards for water quality were not achieved. In fact, the tests before and after the reporting violation indicated no issues, therefore, we are extremely confident that the chlorite limit was not exceeded.
 
We are sorry for the alarm. The safety and quality of your drinking water is our highest priority.
