Grant for City’s Lead Hazard Abatement Program Extended

The grant period has been extended for the City of Tuscaloosa’s Lead Hazard Abatement Program, which is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant, which was originally set to expire in July, 2023, has been extended until June, 2024.
The Lead Hazard Abatement Program offers funding to remove lead-based paint hazards in the homes of qualifying homeowners, landlords and tenants. With the extended grant period, the program hopes to identify and remove hazards in 200 homes within the City of Tuscaloosa.
